RIVERBANK BLUES (Written in response to a sermon on Joshua chapter 3) G7  C7  D  D7  G  B7  My destination lies just over the river; C  C7  D7  G  the road I'm travelling runs right through. B7  I feel that I've been on this journey for ever, A7  G/D  Edim  F  D/F#  trying to walk the way that you've told me to. G  B7  You've brought me safely through the hills and the desert, C  C7  D7  G  I've seen the things that you can do. Am  D7  Why should I doubt you now? Yet - G  Am  D7  don't want to get my feet wet - G  Am  D7  G  B7  I think I've got the river bank blues. E  There is no road to the left or right. A  It's pointless going back the way I came D  and as I ponder through the foggy night, G  G/F  C/E  G/D  what looked like different choices all turn out to be the same. C  B7  I hope by morning things will seem so much clearer - C  C7  D7  G  the way ahead in plain er view. Am  D7  Don't want to turn a round now, G  Am  D7  but can't see where I'm bound now - G  Am  D7  G  I'm sure I've got those river bank blues. (8 bars instrumental interlude) E  A  D  G  G/F  C/E  G/D  C  B7  I'm either trapped here by this river for ever C  C7  D7  G  or take the risk and wade on through. Am  D7  I want to move a head now, G  Am  D7  but can't see where to tread now - G  Am  D7  G  G7  Lord, save me from these river bank blues.
