1    Being sure of what we hope for,

      And certain of the things we cannot see,

      We will run the race marked for us,

      Our eyes fixed constantly on Jesus;

      Like those who have gone before us,

      And who God counted righteous by their faith,

      Who in times of difficulties

      Still kept their nerve and did not waver:

Ch       By faith, they fought great battles,

            By faith, worked miracles,

            By faith, their weaknesses were turned to strength and vict'ry came;

            By faith, they heard God speaking,

            By faith, obeyed his word,

            By faith, they persevered,

            And we like them will live each day by faith.

2    We can learn from their example,

      Though suffering and hardships came their way,

      Even death and persecution

      Did not deflect them from their mission;

      So we too, will not be shaken,

      What seems impossible shall come to be,

      Having faith like seeds of mustard

      Is all we need to move a mountain:
