(Verse 1)
Prayers bouncing off the wall. I wonder if He hears at all.
Or am I too impatient to see how He'll answer my call.
Kneeling with an empty heart, sometimes I don't know where to
start;
While I struggle to pray God is there with His grace to impart.

(Chorus)
The answer to our prayers may not be what we expect;
Jesus may not always answer "Yes."
For if we pray, "Lord, what will You have me to do?"
He may choose that suffer - ing is best.
And we don't always know just how our prayers will be heard
But our Lord is there to inter - cede.
The answer to our prayers may not be what we want
But they'll be just what we need.

(Verse 2)
Praying comes so easily with trouble and distress and need;
As a last resort how often we find that we fall on our knees.
Lord, help me live from day to day in such a self-forgetful way,
So my prayers will be directed to others each time that I pray.

(Bridge)
God wants us to place all of our trust in Him
And as we do our prayers will end in thankful - ness,
triumph, and praise.

But our Lord is there to intercede.
The answer to our prayers may not be what we want
